Annual 15-arc-second VIIRS nighttime-radiance series (about 500 m), filtered to reduce ephemeral lights and background noise. It supports analysis of lit-area expansion, urbanisation and some changes in activity. It does not directly measure population, electricity use or GDP; industrial sites, gas flares and the availability of cloud-free observations also affect pixel values.

Raster information
Each pixel reports filtered annual average nighttime radiance. A high value means stronger light emission, but is not by itself a measure of population, electricity consumption or economic activity.
