Morocco's geospatial data

·National

Boundaries of camping grounds and caravan areas mapped in Morocco. The areas support analysis of site footprints, their proximity to roads, beaches, and natural spaces, as well as the preparation of tourism planning maps.

·National

Emprises polygonales des attractions et équipements de loisirs touristiques cartographiés dans OpenStreetMap.

·National

Campsites and areas for caravans or motorhomes mapped in OpenStreetMap, including capacity and services when available.

·National

Attractions, zoos, aquariums, theme parks, water parks, galleries, and artworks mapped in OpenStreetMap.

·National

Travel agencies in Morocco, including name and contact details when available

·National

Electric transmission pylons tagged OSM power=tower, with technical attributes when available.

·National

Electric poles tagged power=pole in OSM, mainly linked to distribution networks.

·National

Polygonal footprints of electrical substations mapped in OpenStreetMap.

·National

OSM electric substation points and representative points calculated inside substations mapped as areas.

·National

Segments of active power lines and cables mapped in OpenStreetMap, clipped to the continuous national extent.

·National

Polygon footprints of solar generators mapped in OpenStreetMap.

·National

Solar generators mapped in OpenStreetMap as points or representative points of photovoltaic surfaces.

·National

Individual wind generators mapped in OpenStreetMap, including a representative point for objects drawn as surfaces.

OSM power plants represented by a point, either directly or derived from a polygon footprint, with energy source when available.

·National

603 forest fires recorded in Morocco between 2012 and 2023, with the date and time of ignition, estimated duration, and forest type according to the Copernicus classification for each event.

·National

Land cover map of Morocco at approximately 30 m resolution, derived from the GLC_FCS30D series built using Landsat observations and continuous change detection. Each pixel contains one of 35 thematic codes detailing crops, forests, shrub and herbaceous formations, wetlands, built-up areas, bare land, water, snow or ice. The layer covers Morocco in a single continuous national extent and is prepared as a COG for web and GIS use

·National

Modelled estimate of mean local tree species richness per hectare in forested areas covered by the global map v2 by Liang et al. The 0.025° grid — approximately 2.5 to 3 km — covers Morocco’s continuous national extent, including the southern regions. A NoData cell lies outside the product’s forest mask and does not mean zero species. The layer represents expected richness: it provides neither species names nor abundance, and does not confirm occurrence on the ground.

·National

Annual binary mask at approximately 30 m pixels where Hansen Global Forest Change v1.13 detects gross tree cover loss in Morocco. The layer covers Morocco in a single continuous extent and is derived without interpolation from the official lossyear 2001–2025 band.

·National

Monthly time series of approximate burn dates detected by the NASA MODIS MCD64A1 Collection 6.1 satellite product at about 500 m resolution, within one continuous national extent covering all of Morocco, including the southern regions. Each image represents one month from November 2000 to July 2026. A value of 0 means that no burn was detected during the month; values from 1 to 366 are the estimated ordinal day of burning. No detection does not prove that no fire occurred, especially for small or short-lived fires, cloud cover, and sensor-resolution limitations.
